Stageworks College FAQs

Stageworks was founded by Principal Michael Bays to make the arts accessible to everyone. Here are a few of our frequently asked questions.

Is the course funded?

BTEC Level 3 courses are funded for 18 hours per week for 30 weeks per year, providing the student has not previously completed a level 3 qualification.

How much does the uniform cost?

Uniform costs start at around £275 for our basic uniform. This includes leotards, vests, T-shirts, and a tracksuit. There are other items available from our uniform shop, such as footwear and tights, but these do not have to be purchased from us.

What GCSE grades do I need to join?

Our entry requirements are 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above and must include Maths and English Language.

I live too far away to travel to college every day. Does the college provide accommodation?

Yes, Stageworks has a range of rental properties, all within walking distance of the college, which gives students from further afield the opportunity to study with us. All our accommodation is priced competitively with average weekly payments of £120 including utilities.  We have a Housing Officer who looks after repairs and maintenance of the property and organises the utility bills. Some students may get assistance with paying their rent via Residential Support Scheme but are subject to Terms and Conditions.

Will I receive UCAS points when I complete the course?

Yes, you can expect to gain 96-112 UCAS points with our two-year Musical Theatre/Dance courses (with the option to complete a 3rd year) and 144-168 UCAS points with our three-year Acting course.

How do I apply?

We have various audition dates throughout the year. For further information and to download an application form, visit our courses page.
