Will I take part in performances as a Stageworks student?
Our students perform several times a year. They take part in various community performances, the actors take part in a filmed play, we have a BTEC Sharing evening, Musicals in the Aisles, End of Year Show and the students rehearse and train with The Musical Theatre Company to present a full-scale musical at a local theatre.
I live too far away to travel to college every day. Does the college provide accommodation?
Yes, Stageworks has a range of rental properties, all within walking distance of the college, which gives students from further afield the opportunity to study with us. All our accommodation is priced competitively with average weekly payments of £120 including utilities. We have a Housing Officer who looks after repairs and maintenance of the property and organises the utility bills. Some students may get assistance with paying their rent via Residential Support Scheme but are subject to Terms and Conditions.
Is the college easily accessible by public transport?
Yes, Stageworks is a 5-minute walk from St Neots train station. The train from Peterborough to London (St Pancras) stops at many stations including Peterborough, Huntingdon, St Neots, Sandy, Biggleswade, Arlesey, Hitchin, Stevenage, Finsbury Park, London St Pancras.
There is also a service around Cambridgeshire called the Tiger Bus Pass, which provides young adults under the age of 25 with a bus pass that can get them bus tickets for just £1.00 per journey. There are several bus stops in the local area, all walkable to the college too.
Will I receive UCAS points when I complete the course?
Yes, you can expect to gain 96-112 UCAS points with our two-year Musical Theatre/Dance courses (with the option to complete a 3rd year) and 144-168 UCAS points with our three-year Acting course.
What are the possible pathways for me when I finish the course?
Most of our students have gone on to vocational conservatoires or universities to study the arts. Some choose to extend their course and stay for a third year here at Stageworks to gain confidence and performance skills. Others have used their UCAS points to study degree courses in a variety of subjects. We’re very proud that Stageworks alumni are now performing in West End shows, on tour, cruises, in TV shows, films and in various other careers, pursuing their passions.
