Louise Garwood

Louise is a versatile actor and director with a diverse portfolio spanning theatre, pantomime, educational performance, cabaret, puppetry and site-specific and street theatre. Following her graduation from the prestigious East 15 Acting School, her work ranges from classical roles to contemporary and devised work, showcasing a strong ability to adapt across a wide variety of styles and audiences.

Louise’s performance experience ranges from the heightened world of Shakespeare, having played Marcus Andronicus in Titus Andronicus and King Lear in an earlier workshop, to contemporary and comedic roles such as Maddie in Bossy! and Joker in Karen vs The People. She has also explored more unconventional forms of storytelling, performing as a puppeteer in Colour Quest, appearing in site-specific work in Ebbs and Flows, and taking on multiple characters in the street theatre production Pandemonium.

A strong connection with audiences runs through Louise’s work. She has performed in pantomime as Fairy Tinsel in Sleeping Beauty, worked in educational theatre as Molly in Dead End, and appeared in cabaret in The Late, Late Capitalism Show. Her work in Spreading the Joy, performed as part of both the Wandsworth Arts Fringe and at Putney Arts Theatre, further reflects Louise’s experience of bringing contemporary work to a wide range of audiences and performance spaces.

Alongside performing, Louise has developed her career as a director. She directed Dick Whittington for LADA and worked as Associate Director on Jack and The Beanstalk for Landmark Theatres, building experience in both the creative and practical demands of producing live theatre.

This breadth of experience allows Louise to bring a dynamic and informed approach to her work, with a particular strength in character, storytelling and creating engaging performance for different audiences and environments.
