Phil began his professional training at Laine Theatre Arts, later gaining teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and building an extensive career spanning performance, choreography and dance education.

As a performer, Phil has worked extensively in musical theatre, including his roles as Dance Captain/Swing in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre in London. He has also performed a variety of roles across two UK and international tours of CATS, including Carbucketty, Mr Mistoffelees, Coricopat and Skimbleshanks. His other West End credits include Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre, where he performed as swing, Eugene and Sonny, and the original London cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium. He was also featured in the production’s Making of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the original London cast recording. His touring credits include Beauty and The Beast.

Phil has also developed a successful career in choreography, working as Associate Choreographer on the original Brazilian and Danish productions of We Will Rock You, as well as the Royal Caribbean International production. He was also Associate Choreographer on Ragtime at the Landor Theatre in Clapham.

Alongside his professional performance and choreography career, Phil is an experienced and highly sought-after teacher. He has taught at leading performing arts institutions including the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Guildford School of Acting, London Studio Centre and Associated Studios, as well as Momentum Performing Arts Agency, CBS Dance and The Centre Performing Arts. He is also a popular teacher at Pineapple Dance Studios.

With varied experience across the West End, international touring, choreography and professional dance training, Phil brings a wealth of practical industry knowledge to his teaching, alongside a passion for helping performers develop their technical ability, confidence and performance skills.
