Our Classes
Stageworks Studios offers one of the widest ranges of performing arts classes in Cambridgeshire, covering dance, singing, acting, musical theatre, early years training and graded exam pathways. Below you’ll find a full overview of everything we offer.
Youth

Early Years
Stageworks provides a nurturing introduction to the performing arts that introduces rhythm, movement, and coordination. Using music, props, and imaginative play, Little Stars classes encourage creativity, promote relationships with others, and foster self-confidence in children up to 3 years old.
Twinkle Toes ballet offers children a gentle beginning to classical ballet. With scarves, wands, and playful exercises, young dancers learn basic ballet movements while building confidence and social skills.
Act and Sing for children aged 3-6 introduces young performers to acting, singing, and storytelling; a first step into the world of musical theatre.
Pre-Preparatory Tap and Jazz introduce rhythm, musicality, balance, and coordination through routines and basic steps. It’s a lively and enjoyable way to begin structured dance training.
Modern Jazz
Modern Jazz is a fast-paced, athletic dance style widely used in professional training and commercial performance. Classes centre on energetic choreography, expressive movement, musical precision, and stamina. Students develop flexibility, coordination, and strength while learning dynamic routines that challenge and inspire.

Acro Dance
Acro dance blends expressive dance movement with the controlled technique and flexibility of gymnastics. Students learn acro tricks and skills safely, while improving balance, strength, and overall physical control. It’s an exciting choice for dancers wanting to incorporate acrobatic elements into their performance.
Tap
Tap is a rhythm-driven, percussive dance style that sharpens agility, timing, and musicality. Students practice accurate footwork and clear beats, building coordination through engaging, upbeat routines and exercises. Tap encourages a strong sense of rhythm, making it a fun and rewarding style for dancers of all ages.

Contemporary
Contemporary dance combines classical ballet technique with modern movement, floorwork, and emotional delivery. Classes offer the freedom to explore artistry and self-expression while developing posture, core strength, flexibility, and fluidity. Each lesson includes a structured warm-up followed by technique exercises and routine sequences.
Musical Theatre Dance
These uplifting classes focus on learning choreographed routines to popular musical theatre numbers. Students explore character, style, and performance quality while developing confidence on stage. Many also choose to attend our singing classes or drama workshops to broaden their skills.

Classical Ballet
Ballet is the technical foundation of all dance forms. Stageworks offers classes from age 3 upwards, following both RAD and BDTA syllabi. Students can progress through the grades at a pace tailored to them, with opportunities to be entered for exams throughout the year. Ballet training develops strength, musicality, discipline, elegance, and confidence, making it an essential part of any young dancer’s development.
We offer classes from Pre-Primary and Primary through to Grad 5, Advanced Foundation and beyond. Ballet students can audition for dance troupes performing at galas, events and festivals. They may also choose to participate in the Cambridgeshire Youth Ballet Company, run by Stageworks Events.
Exam Pathways
RAD offers a structured approach to focusing on artistry and precision. BDTA provides a flexible and comprehensive pathway, including Rose Awards for younger dancers and vocational exams from Intermediate level upwards, which carry UCAS points for those pursuing dancer at a higher level.
Pointework
For students ready to progress, dedicated pointe classes develop foot and ankle strength, balance, and classical technique. Training begins at the barre before moving into centre and corner work to build safe, assured pointe ability.

Adult

Ballet
Adult ballet welcomes both novices and those returning to ballet. This elegant art form helps improve posture, strength, flexibility, coordination and musicality in an encouraging and non-competitive environment. Many adults enjoy ballet for its mental health benefits too, as dancing is known to boost serotonin levels and enhance mood. Adult ballet is a beautiful and rewarding way to stay active, and you can even try the class for free.
Singing
Our adult singing class is a relaxed, enjoyable session focused on musical theatre style repertoire. The class runs on Monday evenings and operates on a termly basis. It’s an excellent way to improve vocal skills and enjoy singing with like-minded individuals in a friendly atmosphere. Free taster sessions are also available for this class.
